Ukarimu House

Ukarimu House is a large facility located opposite the Athi River campus of Daystar University. Its 1 acre plot includes the Ukarimu Student Ministry Center, a two-bedroom guest house, a private apartment for the ministry’s directors, a large gazebo for outdoor events, and gardens & open areas in a peaceful, semi-rural environment.

The purpose of Ukarimu House is to be a relevant ministry demonstrating the biblical call to be salt and light to emerging leaders and a place of rejuvenation for current leaders in the Body of Christ and society.

It is a place . . .

  • of Christian nurture and transformation
  • for supportive mentoring and counseling
  • to facilitate the integration of faith and learning through reflection & action
  • of joy, excitement, and fellowship
  • to experience and be part of a godly family
  • of peace, refreshment, & rejuvenation.

Ukarimu House, which includes an upstairs apartment for the directors, is currently under construction. This 4,500 sq. ft. building includes

  • Residential rooms for up to 6 students
  • A large meeting room
  • A large kitchen and dining room
  • Study and storage areas
  • A self-contained two-bedroom apartment
  • A huge wrap-around verandah suitable for small group meetings

The two-bedroom guest house, currently serving as housing for the directors, will eventually be used for long-term guests, small group retreats, housing for couples involved in multiday intensive counseling sessions, and other events requiring overnight facilities.

The gazebo tops the 24,000 gallon rainwater storage tank. It provides a great facility for outdoor events, such as student social events, small concerts, and small group meetings.

The gardens and open areas provide ample room for games, flower beds, and secluded areas for prayer and contemplation.

At Ukarimu House we offer outreach, mentoring, hospitality, counseling, and discipleship.

Although the focus of Ukarimu House is student ministry, we are also involved in counselling (both individuals and couples) and in hosting other groups who just need a venue for a one-day
