Chip directs the Centre for Excellence in teachung and Learning (CETL) at Daystar. CETL has six areas pf responsibility, all relating to faculty support and development. These six are:
CETL conducts 40+ events yearly for Daystar faculty. These include workshops, reading groups, curriculum development groups, and retreats. Chip also supports other Christian higher education institutions by conducting workshops. He has facilitated such workshops in Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan (North & South), Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Zimbabwe, & South Africa.
Chip is also the chair of the Association for Faculty Enhancement in Learning and Teaching. AFELT is a regional professional association, serving the nations in East Africa. Its members are academic staff and other major players in higher education in the East Africa region. AFELT seeks to enhance the scholarship of teaching and learning and life-long learning for academic staff through collaboration with similar or complementary individuals and organizations.
